How the profit is worked out
Profit = (price + shipping charged) × (1 − fee % − payment %) − fixed fee − item cost − your shipping − ads − other
Selling for $45 with free shipping, a $15 item, $6 shipping, a 13% marketplace fee, 3% payment processing, a $0.30 order fee and $1 of packaging: fees are 16% of $45 = $7.20 plus $0.30, so profit = 45 − 7.50 − 15 − 6 − 1 = $15.50, a 34.4% margin.
Fees change, so check yours
Marketplace fees vary by platform, category, seller level and country, and they change often. Some platforms bundle payment processing into one fee; others charge it separately; many add a small fixed fee per order. Look up your platform's current fee page and enter the exact numbers. Most marketplaces charge their percentage on the total the buyer pays, including shipping, so this calculator does the same.
Break-even price
The break-even price is the lowest sale price that covers every cost and fee, so profit is zero. Price below it and every sale loses money, however many you sell.

Take the total the buyer pays, subtract the platform's percentage fees and any fixed per-order fee, then subtract what the item cost you, your shipping, ads and packaging.
Are fees charged on shipping too?
